Celebrity in America

"Heather Mills soon will be back in front of the cameras. The former Mrs. Paul McCartney, who recently wrapped up a very public divorce from the ex-Beatle, is among the celebrity judges just announced for the upcoming Miss USA Pageant." (link to the rest)

If all you have to do in America to be a "celebrity" is engage in contemptible behavior, there's hope for a lot of people who want their fifteen minutes, yet!

That's a lot of bashing for poor Heather. There's a good chance Paul is such an asshole $50 million is what he expects to pay for someone to pretend to like him.
He's the one that broke up the Beatles, then when to court to keep the others from performing togeher as The Beatles. Amazingly, he won, though The Beatles was John Lennon's band. He's got money to burn, so I don't feel sorry for him at all.

Speaking of contemptible behavior, are you following the Amazon vs. POD debacle right now? If not, stop by Perpetual Writer's Blog for my take on it and some important links, because it affects you as an author.

Neil: I was too young to know what the Beatles conflict was, but anyone who, after four years of marriage, think she - or he - is ENTITLED to that much money kind of makes me sick.

Ian: Hm. Just read it...good info. Thanks.

Heather's a gold-digger and she will now live in reality TV hell thanks to that - but only to keep a public image - she certainly doesn't need the money!

As for celebrity - none better than William Shatner! What a fine gentleman who is such a blessing upon our lives!

Seriously, I don't fawn over celebrities but I would totally throw myself at Kristen Bell's feet and worship the very ground she walks upon!

Has anyone here ever listened to the angelic vocalizings of Yoko Ono? There was a talented musician if ever there was! And this guy blames Paul for the break-up. Paul may be an arrogant so-and-so but I do not believe that John's solo outings came anywhere near the quality of Lennon/McCartney. Why should the others perform as "the Beatles" without him. It is just like Roger Waters. Pink Floyd is paper thin without the collaboration. So damn Paul McCartney if you like but I will not accept that Heather, or John, are flawless saints.
